“The way Barry Gifford lets people talk articulates everything about their unfamiliar inner lives, and ours.” The Boston Globe
Join Barry Gifford and friends to celebrate the new edition of Writers, published by Seven Stories Press. Barry, Peter Maravelis, Julie Lindow, Michael Ray, and Anne Rayat will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Sheldon Brown for a rousing evening of dramatic readings, music, and discussion. Start the evening at 6 pm with cocktails at Canessa Gallery, and settle in for a night with the likes of Gifford’s Kerouac, Kafka, O’Connor, Burroughs, Melville, and Gide.
Canessa Gallery is located at 708 Montgomery Street, San Francisco. The landmark building is a diminutive old-brick gem and one of downtown San Francisco’s last links to her colorful, bohemian past: the perfect place to summon Barry’s favorite writers.
Entry is free, but the place is cozy and seating is first come, first served. Show up early to get a good perch.
